Alaina Enslen (1977 Oscoda, Michigan) blends the traditions of painting and textile art. Merging a large range of techniques such as cutting, ripping, fraying, dyeing, gluing, sewing and painting, I experiment with the properties of materials such as silk, cotton, linen, canvas, beeswax, damar resin and pigments to create process based collages that merge the boundaries of textile art and painting.
Andrea Carracedo (1988 Comillas, Spain) grew up in Banyoles, where she teaches encaustic and cyanotype to her students. Her artistic style favors abstracted landscapes, with an emphasis on accretion, fields of color, and experimental techniques. She's an R&F Paints Certified Instructor and a member of International Encaustic Artists. Her work is collected in Europe, Australia, and the US.
